Apple has released the fourth developer beta of AppleOS 27, bringing another round of updates across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, visionOS and tvOS. Compared with earlier betas, this release introduces few major features. Instead, Apple continues refining Apple Intelligence, Liquid Glass and several core system apps while improving performance, consistency and stability throughout the operating system.
Liquid Glass and Apple Intelligence continue to mature
Liquid Glass receives another series of visual adjustments across the system. Apple has refined transparency, blur, contrast and icon rendering, while navigation bars, system materials and animations now behave more consistently throughout first-party apps. Apple Intelligence also receives another round of polish, including interface improvements, smoother transitions and better responsiveness during Siri requests. Although Beta 4 introduces few headline AI features, Apple continues improving the experience behind the scenes with reliability fixes and interface refinements that make the system feel more stable than previous builds.
System apps receive another round of updates
Several built-in apps have also been updated. Photos includes additional interface refinements and navigation improvements, while AirPods settings have been reorganized to make frequently used controls easier to find. Apple has also refined Settings, Control Center and other system interfaces to better match the overall AppleOS 27 design language. The Camera app receives additional tuning, and a number of smaller interface inconsistencies have been corrected across the system. None of these changes are dramatic individually, but together they make the operating system feel noticeably more consistent than earlier betas.
Performance and developer improvements
Beta 4 places a stronger emphasis on stability than previous releases. Apple has addressed bugs affecting animations, scrolling, multitasking and overall responsiveness, while battery behavior has improved on some devices. Developers should also notice fewer unexpected UI changes, making this build a more reliable environment for testing app compatibility. Apple has continued refining frameworks introduced earlier in the beta cycle, though no major new developer APIs were added in this release.
Apple has not announced a public release date for AppleOS 27, but after four developer betas the feature set now appears largely complete. Future beta releases are expected to focus on performance, compatibility and final refinements before the software becomes available to all users.
